After receiving his license to practice medicine in 2009, he completed his specialist training at the University Medical Center Freiburg and the University Heart Center Freiburg-Bad Krozingen, becoming a senior physician in the field of interventional treatment of coronary and structural heart disease in 2019. During a two-year research stay at Massachusetts General Hospital at the renowned Harvard University in Boston, USA, he investigated the role of the innate immune system after a heart attack and the interactions between the psyche and cardiovascular diseases. After completing his habilitation in 2018, he was appointed adjunct professor at the medical faculty of the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg in 2022. He is a proven expert in the field of interventional therapies and non-invasive imaging (cardiac MRI and CT). He holds additional training in cardiac MRI and is certified to the highest national and international standards.
